Description: The history of this place goes back to the Romanesque period, when the bishops seat was built here. (Biskupsky Dum means The Bishops House). During the following centuries the seat was extended and rebuilt many times. In 1419 the court was burnt down and the walls were used for the construction of houses of Prague bourgeoisie. In the 16th century there was built a new building, the present appearance is from the 19th century. In 1999 the building was comletely reconstructed and nowdays you can find behind the empire facade both comfort and genuine remnants of the past. The hotel rooms are very tastefuly furnished with period furniture and offer a unique atmosphere.
The area around the Square of Republic and Revolucni street is the edge of the Old Town, busy area convenient for shopping, with Pragues largest department store Kotva. It has several architectural points of interest as the Powder Gate or the Municipal House - the Pragues most outstanding Art Nouveau building.
